Goals of the group

• Creating Awareness by educating the participants regarding anxiety
• Providing some quick tips and suggestions for instant relief
• Guidance for dealing with anxiety from a trained professional
• Support from the group to build motivation

Who is it for?

Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However if you frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations, this group is for you.

If you feel, these feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger, and you may avoid places or situations to prevent these feelings, the group can help.

Note: This course is not recommended for severe cases of anxiety or any case where there are other co-morbid conditions.

Ayush Chandra

Psy. Ayush Chandra is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist (Gold Medalist), at Aarunya Mental Health Centre, West Delhi.

He has completed his RCI Licensing in Clinical Psychology and His Masters in Psychology is from TISS Mumbai., after completing his bachelor in Psychology from Delhi University.

He has attained his experience at various esteemed institutions of mental health in India such as NIMHANS-Bangalore, IBHAS-Delhi, Deen Dayal Hospital Delhi.

As a Clinical Psychologist his expertise includes a wide range of mental health conditions like Anxiety Disorders,Mood Disorders, Sexual dysfunctions, Addiction, Family Counselling among others.

While the format can vary as per topic, here’s a flow that most sessions follow

Check In. Participants check-in with each others’ feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group in a free-flowing conversation—with the goal of sharing openly, talking honestly, and deep emotional connection.

Check Out. Participants share what they’re taking away from the session.

Participants say that they feel heard, understood, more in control, and a feeling that you’ve got people rooting for you. By talking about your emotions and what’s going on in your life, you’ll realise that you’re not alone and get ideas for how to improve your situation.
