About the Group

Having the option to freeze eggs can be a valuable, life-changing one for some women. But this option may not be appropriate for everyone, especially because egg freezing is by no means a simple procedure, and it does not promise pregnancy down the road. Doesn’t make sense for women to jump into the decision or feel pressured to put their eggs on ice without careful consideration of their health and their reproductive goals, as well as the egg-freezing process and cost, among many other factors. Deciding whether or not to freeze your eggs requires medical inputs and exploring your own goals and thoughts and this group focuses on the latter.

Who is the group for?

There are many reasons a woman in her late 20s or early 30s might be thinking about fertility preservation and egg freezing. If you are trying to coordinate the timing of family planning with career planning or still waiting for the right partner to come along or for other some reason considering egg freezing, this group will help you explore your own goals and reasons and help you get started on the decision making journey from an emotional lens.

● Exploring personal narratives and journeys around the decision to freeze eggs
● Reflecting on past experiences and beliefs about fertility and being a parent.
● Building context about societal and cultural narratives about fertility, examining internalised ideas about the process of becoming a parent
● Identifying related past trauma if any
