Goals of the group

Offer a space to share your journey and listen to others’ experiences.
Provide emotional support in order to decrease the sense of isolation.
Engage with others who know the ups and downs of balancing treatments, and who can give support and suggestions.

Who is it for?

If you are trying for a baby, and feel like TTC journey has taken over your life and its difficult to share with friends/family – this is a space to process and navigate the journey better.
You might be have been trying for a few months or longer, have a diagnosis that might interfere with your fertility or are in between IUI/IVF cycles.
To keep the group homogenous, we are running it only for women right now.

What will we talk about?

• Exploring personal narratives and journeys around fertility
• Reflecting on past experiences and beliefs about fertility and being a parent.
• Identifying related past trauma if any (e.g., pregnancy loss)
• Exploring Connection to the Body – reflecting on the language we use when talking to our body (self-talk)
• Understanding social context: Gender stereotypes, cultural beliefs
• Navigating familial relationships and societal pressure
• Sharing the challenges and experiences of romantic partnerships through the lens of fertility journey
• Identifying tradeoffs and reassessing – eg: not putting life on hold during the journey
• Balancing other roles while being on this journey
• Identifying further resources and individual action plan: Eg: Alternatives to TTC- Adoption, ART etc
