Goals of the group

The goal of the group is to understand the functions of emotion and learn to develop an observant, neutral and non-judgemental attitude toward your emotions. aim at offering a safe and non-judgmental space for attendees to voice their struggles and current ways of coping with difficult emotions.
From these struggles, we will curate coping strategies that work for everyone using a variety of modalities like writing, and other modalities of psychotherapy.

Who is the group for?

This group is for anyone who wants to understand and cope with their emotions better. This space is for everyone regardless of age, gender, or location nature of work. There is an important takeaway for everyone.

Meet your Facilitator

Shivangi Anil

Shivangi is a psychotherapist who works with Indian adults globally to support them achieve better mental health. Some of the concerns she specializes in include workplace mental health, burnout , stress, relationship conflict, anger management, body image concerns, emotional wellness, depression and anxiety

Shivangi holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram college for Women and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Ambedkar University, Delhi. She is registered with the counselors council of India. While she is trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, she considers narrative practice and solution focused brief therapy her home base. Shivangi is trauma informed, queer and disability affirmative in her practice.

Shivangi happens to live with Cerebral Palsy quadriplegia. As an adult living with a disability in India, Shivangi is an advocate not just for mental health but also inclusion and disability rights. She hopes to create a space to talk about all things mental health, disability and its intersection through her support groups.

When not working with clients or reading about mental health concerns, you can find her binge watching videos on skincare and curly hair care or a bollywood movie.

Check In. Participants check-in with each others’ feelings and answer the prompt given by the facilitator if any.

Conversation. Your facilitator will guide the group in a free-flowing conversation—with the goal of sharing openly, talking honestly, and deep emotional connection.

Check Out. Participants share what they’re taking away from the session.

Participants say that they feel heard, understood, more in control, and a feeling that you’ve got people rooting for you. By talking about your emotions and what’s going on in your life, you’ll realise that you’re not alone and get ideas for how to improve your situation.
